Promotion of Ayurvedic Aahar

With a steadfast commitment to promoting Ayurvedic principles of healthy living and addressing the growing demand for traditional foods, Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth (RAV) is pioneering efforts to encourage healthy snacking among the younger population through its innovative range of Ayurveda food products. Recognizing the importance of nutrition and dietary choices in maintaining overall well-being, RAV is dedicated to offering wholesome and nourishing options that align with the principles of Ayurveda.

In line with the regulations set forth by the Ministry of Ayush (MoA) and the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) under the 'Ayurveda Aahara' category, RAV has developed a diverse array of Ayurveda-based food products. These products are meticulously crafted to not only meet regulatory standards but also to harness the inherent health benefits of Ayurvedic ingredients and formulations.

From nutrient-rich snacks to revitalizing beverages, RAV's range of Ayurveda food products encompasses a variety of options to cater to different tastes and preferences. Each product is carefully formulated using traditional Ayurvedic herbs, spices, and ingredients known for their therapeutic properties, ensuring both taste and health benefits.

A) A.N.I.E. BREAD
‘Ayurvedic Nutritious Ingredients Enriched’ Bread

“ANIE” bread which stands for ‘Ayurvedic Nutritious Ingredients Enriched’ Bread. ANIE bread is a tastier and healthier alternative to traditional Maida /Atta bread.

  2. Mudga (Moong Dal/ Green gram)
  3. Ajamoda (Ajwain/ Carrom Seeds)
  4. Jeeraka (Jeera/ Cumin Seeds)
  5. Pumpkin Seeds (White Sitaphal)
  6. Watermelon seeds (Tarbuja)
  7. Muskmelon Seeds (Kharbuja)

Nutritional benefits of ingredients used

  • Wheat provides nourishment, and strength, vital for life in nature as per Ayurveda classics.
  • Moong dal is easy to digest, promotes physical strength and growth, good for eyes, and improves skin complexion.
  • Pumpkin seeds relieve constipation, improve eyesight, exhibits anti-fungal and antiviral properties also.
  • Watermelon seeds have cooling nature and are a rich source of unsaturated fatty acids. Musk melon seeds are antitussive, antipyretic, and anthelminthic and also promote digestion.
  • Ajwain (Carrom seeds) is digestive, promotes appetite, and reduces bloating.
  • Jeeraka (Cumin Seeds) acts as an appetizer, carminative, blood purifier, anti-spasmodic and anti -fungal.

Poshak Cookies : Provides Holistic nourishment and is helpful in promoting lactation , it is a rich source of calcium and promotes bone health , it is also a rich source of folic acid , and hence is helpful in anemia. This biscuit is hence a round product to combat malnutrition and provide Children and lactating mothers good source of “ POSHAN”

  • Wheat provides nourishment, strength, vital forlife, and aphrodisiac in Ayurveda (Charaka Samhita Sutra 27).
  • Bajra is said to be balya (strength promoting) & having a role in bleeding disorders, worminfestation, dysuria (PriyaNighantu).
  • Shobhanjana Patra balances Kapha and Vata dosha (Bhavparaksh Nighantu). It promotes digestion, checks worm manifestation, and is wholesome for the body. It is rich in phytosterols and promotes lactation. It is rich in iron, calcium & mineral contents.
  • Jaggery is said to nourish the body by strengthening Dhatus viz. Rakta, Mamsa, Meda and Majja (Charak Samhita Sutra 27). It improves immunity, stimulates digestion & relieves constipation.
  • Tila possess Medhya (promote intellect), Vajikara (Aphrodisiac), Chakshushya (good for vision) & Keshya (promotes hair growth) properties (Bhavparaksh Nighantu)

S.U.M.I.T Jam improves the intellect and grasping power of the children and helps in promoting muscle strength, improves digestion, and nourishes the skin. It improves memory and cognitive functions and is helpful in the treatment of nervous system disorders in the geriatric population (elderly)

  • Kushmanda possess hemostatic properties (check bleeding), adaptogenic, aphrodisiac, nervine & brain tonic, neuroprotective, antitussive, cardiac tonic, cardioprotective, useful in manasaroga (Mental disorders), vibandha (Constipation), udarasula (Pain in abdomen), trishna (Polydipsia), daha (Burning sensation), dourbalya (weakness), hridvikara (heart disease), kshaya (emaciated), rajyakshma (tuberculosis), kasa (cough) , swasa (breathing difficulty/Asthma), amlapitta (hyperacidity), parinamasula (duodenal ulcer).
  • Guava is anti-diabetic, laxative, reduces cholesterol level, fever, prevents gum infections & has anti-oxidant properties.

Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth (RAV) showcased its Ayurveda Aahar range at various prestigious events, including the India International Trade Fair (IITF), World Food India, National Arogya Fair, Bharat Parv, and Global Conference on Traditional Medicine (GCTM). The participation of RAV in these events aimed to create awareness about Ayurvedic dietary practices and attract visitors with its innovative products.

RAV's Ayurveda Aahar products garnered significant attention and received numerous positive reviews from visitors. The unique blend of traditional Ayurvedic ingredients and modern culinary techniques struck a chord with attendees, showcasing the potential of Ayurveda in promoting holistic health and well-being.

By actively participating in these events, RAV not only showcased its products but also contributed to spreading awareness about the benefits of Ayurvedic dietary choices. The positive feedback received at these events underscores the growing interest and acceptance of Ayurveda-based food products among consumers.

Moving forward, RAV remains committed to promoting Ayurvedic principles of healthy eating and continues to innovate and expand its range of Ayurveda Aahar products to cater to the evolving preferences of health-conscious consumers.

Promotion of Region specific Ayurveda Ahara under the umbrella of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”

To mark the 75 years of independence, India is celebrating “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” with great zeal. With reference to this, various activities had been organized by RAV also for the benefit of common people right from imparting knowledge for maintenance of good health, to the distribution of immune-boosting Sanshamnai Vati, and Ayu-Raksha kits among common people.

RAV was running Region specific Ayurveda Ahara series for disseminating the authentic information amongst common people about health benefits of various region specific foods, foods as per seasonal regime etc. Every month any regional & its health benefits were showcased in template & also short promotional video was shared over social media for wider dissemination of knowledge.

Following programmes had been organized during the year on various different topics:

  • Six One-Day Seminars had been organized by RAV across India for the Ayurveda Scholars, Teachers and Clinicians to sensitize & promote Ayurveda Aahara along with the sensitization about FSSAI regulation for Ayurveda Aahara. In every seminar, more than 100 participants registered& had been sensitized.
  • Webinars had been organized every month on Usage of Millets for health maintenance.
  • An online competition was organized on “Millet Recipes through your kitchen” wherein videos had been invited from participants. More than 20 people participated & showcased various regional recipes made from Millets & its health benefits.
